It has been a while since I last posted anything. Work can really take its toll on a person. So anyway, I decided to meet up with Anj for dinner one time. We both ended up at Wildflour since we were both at the fort that time anyway.
The felt the ambiance took to me to another place. I've never been to the US but it feels like I was transported to New York or LA--just felt like it and cannot actually compare.
All the tables were full at dinner. I'm sure it was not only us that was driven to Wildflour from all the praise it got from every blog that we follow. We opted for a seat outside since the air was cool enough anyway. The waiter brought us water right away and the menu.
Warm bread and butter was next. I loved how crunchy the bread is outside yet remained really soft inside.
We decided to split an appetizer and a main course. Thought that we could eat more if we had our orders that way.
We started with Crispy Potatoes, Sour Cream, Bacon and Chives (PHP 140). Who could go wrong with bacon and sour cream on potatoes right? The sliced potatoes were crispy all throughout. The hint of sourness from the cream and the saltiness of the bacon balanced out the taste and textures for this dish. A very good started indeed.
We split the Crouque Madame (PHP 380), ham, guryere and fried egg. The size looks deceiving but we were really full when we finished this. Not even room for dessert! The brioche was nice and soft--oozing with melted guryere and slices of tender ham. Fried egg on a sandwich will always be a nice touch. One order of this is enough for two hungry girls.
The staff was really nice to us and really tries to provide everything that you needed despite the fully packed place. Getting their attention will be slightly challenging if seated outside. The nice thing though is they seem to have assigned someone stationed outside unlike in other restaurants.
It was a great night catching up with Anj. We updated each other on what's happening back at IBM and enjoying our experience as new android users. Too bad we couldn't have dessert. We ended up having tea at daude next door. I heard the breakfast at Wildflour is something to try. I think I should come back on a weekend.
Wildflour is located at GF Net Lima Building 4th ave cor 26th street, Bonifacio Global City.
